What a day! A light drizzle of rain was no hamper on the mood this morning.
The first day of MS Ignite Sydney has finished and it’s been a great one. I spent most of the day hanging out with a good friend from work, meeting people and learning about some exicting technologies. We also got a chance to chat with Joe Laurie.
Sessions
I attended the following sessions today:
Code | Session Title |
---|---|
DEP10 | Why Windows 10 Enterprise and Office 365 ProPlus? Security, privacy and a great user experience |
DEP20 | Modern Windows 10 and Office 365 deployment with Windows Autopilot, Desktop Analytics, Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager |
DEP30 | Streamline and stay current with Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus |
DEP40 | Supercharge PC and mobile device management: Attach Configuration Manager to Microsoft Intune and the Microsoft 365 Cloud |
DEP50 | Why Microsoft 365 Device management is essential to your Zero-Trust strategy |
All of the above sessions are in the Deploying, managing, and servicing Windows, Office and all your devices learning path.
Overall, I found each of the sessions contained good information and that each of the latter sessions built on the previous sessions. I’ve identified the following topics that I want to spend some time doing further investigation this year:
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- Looking at the integrations with Desktop Analytics and Microsoft Intune
- Windows Autopilot
- I think that it’s time that we looked into this again. It would be good to see what has changed in the past few years
- Conditional Access
- Using Compliance Settings in Configuration Manager to feed in to Conditional Access
- Identifying if there is more that our team can be doing in this space
- Office 365 Deployment and Updates
- This is another item that we need to spend some time looking into again
I’ll do a more thorough write up when I get back home on each of the topics. I can then leverage that post as a starting point for further investigation.
Other highlights
I got to meet some people that work for the same company. It only took all of us going to the other side of the country to make it happen, hahaha!
Breakfast and lunch were included which was appreciated. Plenty of free coffee and it was decent to boot!
Looking forward to Day 2.
